Safety comes in many forms, and it all begins with properly registering your business. Yes, if you’re exchanging money, you’re running a business! It’s essential to consider this as part of your planning process.
Another critical aspect to focus on is clear communication and mutual understanding between you and the families you plan to host. Take the time to define who your program is for and who you want to welcome into your hub. Not every program is for everyone, and that’s okay. To protect yourself and ensure your hub runs smoothly, it’s crucial to set clear boundaries and expectations from the start.
Remember, as much as we love creating hubs, supporting families, and creating wonderful environments for children, we must prioritize our own safety and well-being. Think of it like being on an airplane—when the oxygen mask drops, you need to secure your own mask first before assisting others.
