Let´s Talk About Health While Traveling!

Since my son was born, it opened my eyes to natural healing and health. This was the first time I really cared deeply about what was happening with someone’s well-being.

Before, I never worried much about my own health. I’d go to the doctor, get what I needed, and leave. But my son showed me what’s truly important.

While living in Europe, I had homoeopathic doctors around me and access to natural medications, though some I had to pay extra for because they were natural products, pathetic or not!

What I began to understand was that it doesn’t require extensive study sometimes; simple things can make a huge difference.

When we begin to understand holistic healing, we realise that the problem is often not the real problem. We need to see the body as a whole rather than focusing only on the symptoms.

Sometimes the issues that occur are not the root cause. They can be connected to emotions, diet, allergies, trauma, stress, or other underlying factors that are influencing the body. True healing starts when we look deeper and support the whole system, not just one part of it.

And while worldschooling, this has saved me countless doctor visits and loads of money.

It has helped us process trauma and strengthen our immune system before travelling to a new country.

When you’re constantly moving, entering new environments, climates, and cultures, supporting the body holistically makes such a difference. It’s not just about reacting when something goes wrong, it’s about preparing, strengthening, and creating resilience along the way.

My son suffered for the first four years of his life, crying constantly and unable to sleep at night. I visited every doctor and did all possible tests, but none could figure out what was wrong. I was exhausted, tired, and overwhelmed, but I did my best to support him as a mother.

“But who knows that feeling of overwhelm.”

One day, he developed an ear infection. I went to the doctor and they prescribed a mucus-dissolving medication. 500 ml!

They told me to give it to him and return by the end of the month if it wasn’t better, then they would need to remove his adenoids
After a month, there was no improvement. When I returned, they said he needed an operation. I refused to let anyone touch my son’s ears so quickly.

A friend recommended another doctor.
When I went there, he didn’t even look at his ears first!

He asked me how my son sleeps, what he eats, 20 minutes of questions about my son before examining his ears. After 30 minutes, he told me, “No problem, we’ll fix this without an operation.”

He said to leave tomatoes, milk, sugar, and paprika from his diet.

I was confused. I understood sugar and milk, but why tomatoes and paprika? He explained it was because of the acid in the stomach.

“Everything affecting our head, face, nose, and ears comes from the stomach. The ears aren’t the problem, the problem is somewhere else!”

This was eye-opening for me!

He gave me natural medication for my son’s stomach, and……. after just two days, my son slept through the entire night for the first time in four years!

It turned out my son was lactose intolerant, and none of the doctors had figured this out in four years.

Instead, they kept prescribing various medications, damaging his immue system. After this, his ear and stomach problems disappeared because this doctor saw him as a whole person NOT only the problem.

Sometimes it’s just the small things. I believe we do need traditional medicine in certain situations, such as operations, broken bones, and emergencies

👉 And, you should have health insurance for that, as the cost can go up very quickly.

But most of the time, we don’t need medication if we start to understand ourselves better and take an interest in our health, body, and mind.

And you don’t need a master’s degree for that.

I think after what has happened in the world, people are now also more aware of this.

While travelling around the world to different places, this has become harder. It’s difficult to find exactly what I need and ensure products aren’t mixed with other substances.

I found oils in places like Thailand that were diluted with alcohol and other ingredients, which doesn’t help me effectively.

Before taking paracetamol, I can use peppermint oil to relieve a fever, but using just one plant isn’t enough.

By using oils that are highly concentrated, therapeutic-grade, and 100% pure, I have a far higher level of effectiveness.

I’ve been travelling since 2014 and have always found it hard to find what I need when I need it.

So sometimes we had to fall back on pharmaceutical medication. What never made me happy.

I have also been through an accident with my son while being abroad. In moments like that, you realize how hard it can be to find the right support,  even something as simple as a psychologist in a foreign country.

As a single mom, navigating big life shifts, my son’s hormonal changes, and even my own transition into possible pre-menopause, combined with stress and constant environmental changes, it can feel overwhelming at times.

In those moments, I’ve been grateful to have tools I can rely on. I often return to essential oils to support our nervous systems, our emotional balance, and our overall wellbeing.

Having something natural and accessible with us wherever we are has made a real difference in staying grounded through change.
